I'm back in Tagaytay to explore new attractions and places to visit in the city and nearby towns!

So last April, me and my family were invited by our "neighbor" friends to join their weekend vacation to the south. We are so blessed to have the Sanchez/Cruz family to include us to their trip to Tagaytay free of charge! :)

You can watch our vlog here:

Here, you will see the itinerary that you may also use for your next visit to Tagaytay.

DAY ONE

A month before, we were already informed by the Sanchez siblings, Dom & Nicole that their family planned for a weekend stay in Tagaytay for their family. They already had advanced booking for the accommodation and the hired van for the transpo. Everything was all set before we started our trip from Taguig to Tagaytay on a Friday morning.

Surprisingly, (and it was also my first time) our driver took several roads in Pasay going Tagaytay when we (me and my friends) usually and commonly take SLEX and CALAX which is the fastest way to the uplands of Cavite. Instead, our driver took the service roads from Pasay, Paranaque, Bacoor and Dasmarinas until we reached Silang which is the gateway to Tagaytay. I thought it was a shortcut but it took us roughly 4 hours until we arrive in Tagaytay for lunch.

WHAT TO BRING FOR TAGAYTAY

Here are some things you might consider bringing with you for your day tour / adventure:

Shopee is my go-to app for things I needed like the ones above. If you'd like discounts and vouchers, you may get the best offers here:

Casa Bonita Tagaytay

After our quick brunch at a fast food, we headed to our accommodation which is located inside La Prairie Tagaytay, an exclusive neighborhood in AlfonsoCasa Bonita is just a few meters away from the gate at Magnolia St. before the clubhouse.

We were greeted and assisted by their staff upon arrival. They were courteous and helped us with our bags and packs. Staff house is standing just across the house and they have their own security guard, too!

Casa Bonita is a two-storey vacation house that has 1 bedroom at the ground level and 2 more at the second floor. They have a total of 4 bathrooms (each room has one), a nice and wide kitchen with complete utensils and equipment to use. They have an oven and an electric stove we used during our stay.

We were a total of 8 adults and 1 child but the house can accommodate 10 or more pax. Their living and dining areas are spacious, a perfect set up not only for family gatherings but barkada outing, too! The stay is perfect with their heated pool that is lit at night, another IG-worthy experience!

At night, we used their outdoor table where we had our dinner. We also grilled fish and pork in that area. Our booking costed P16,000 per night which is reasonable for big groups. For inquiries, you may send a message to Casa Bonita Tagaytay's Facebook page.

OTHER TAGAYTAY ACCOMMODATION

DAY TWO

On our second day, we just had our breakfast in the morning before we began our day tour in the nearby areas.

Caleruega Church

First of, we chose to visit Transfiguration Chapel of Caleruega. It was actually my first visit here, too. Although it is located in Nasugbu, it only took us under 30 minutes to arrive at the dropoff area (where you can see vendors around) of Caleruega.

We followed the directions shown on the brochure given to us from the entrance and took the steep Dominican Steps to the Transfiguration Chapel.

We stopped at the front of the chapel for a few minutes, took some photos, took some rest then we traversed to the same stairway of Domican Steps. There was actually a shorter way to the chapel but it was closed during our visit.

Dominican Steps

It was Saturday and the chapel was open but there was no mass when we visited. For complete details including mass schedule and wedding packages, I wrote a separate blog for Caleruega.

Queens Strawberry Farm

After our quick visit to Caleruega, we headed straight to Queens Strawberry Farm for a quick look inside this newly opened attraction in Alfonso, Cavite. The farm was a few minutes drive from our accommodation.

Here, we just spent less than an hour just to tour around and feed the koi fishes. Watch our mini vlogs here:

It wasn't the season for strawberries, so we weren't able to experience picking them. Queens is not just a farm, it also houses a restaurant/cafe (they even had a lechon buffet offer during our visit), a bakery, a souvenir shop, a kids play area and room accommodation.

They also offer packages for events and other activities. You can see more details on my blog for Queens.

Cheapest Flights and Airline Tickets Online Booking

Our next stop was just a 15-20 minutes drive from Queens. Also found in Alfonso, Surugin Ramen House is another new spot to visit for your Tagaytay trip. It's passed lunchtime and we haven't eaten.

The restaurant was full when we arrived. We were the 4th on the line as per the staff. So we waited for at least 20-30 minutes for our turn but there were no progress. That's the time we decided to step out and looked for another place to have our lunch/merienda.

Luckily, there was this familiar restaurant located at the ridge part near La Prierie.

Jaytee's Filipino Cuisine - Perfect View

This branch of Jaytee's Filipino Cuisine is their 7th and it was perfectly placed at the edge of the ridge along the Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway. Jaytee's Filipino Cuisine - Perfect View boasts its floor-to-ceiling inclined glass where you can have a stunning view of Taal Lake and Volcano from afar.

It was my second time to dine at a Jaytee's restaurant. The first time was at their main branch near Wind Residences and Sky Ranch Tagaytay. Jaytee's Filipino Cuisine is known for having one of the best bulalo in Tagaytay. I also love other Filipino dishes on their menu like their sizzling sisig and fried chicken.

Our meals at Jaytee's

But what really surprised me is their signature Buco Pie. I personally haven't tried it until we brought a box to take home and tasted it ourselves. Man, it was the best buko pie I have ever tried. They offer it across their branches and soon to other vendors nearby. Definitely a must try when you visit Tagaytay!

After our late lunch, we headed back to Casa Bonita to relax and dip to their heated pool. But my most favorite was the bonfire while having our hot coffee to comfort ourselves from the cold weather.

DAY THREE

Before we checked out, we had our breakfast / brunch at Casa Bonita. Nothing on our itinerary for our last day but to look for a stopover for a coffee break. We found a newly opened Starbucks in Vermosa (which has a drive-thru, too) along Daang Hari Road in Imus and dined in for a bit.

Overall, our 3D2N travel to Tagaytay last summer was another memorable moment in life. Staying at Casa Bonita is highly recommended especially for big groups. Lastly, I would like to thank the Sanchez family, especially to Dominic for having us on this vacation.
