Flanked by Balayan Bay, Pagaspas Bay and Verde Island Passage, this peninsula’s waters are among the most biodiverse in the world. This means that snorkeling and scuba diving are exciting options when you head out into the sea.
Personally, I've been to Calatagan a few times. In 2014, I was lucky to join my girlfriend's barkada trip to Casa Astillero, a camping each resort in Barangay Sta. Ana, Calatagan.

Reminders for Your Trip to Calatagan
Here are the important things to remember and to consider before going to Calatagan:
Calatagan Environmental Fee
- The Calatagan government implements a tourism and environmental fee of P30. It is usually collected by resorts upon entry. You only need to pay it once, so if you’ve already paid it to your booked resort and you’re visiting another resort, just show your Environmental Fee slip.
Money and ATMs
- ATMs and money remittance centers are located in Calatagan town proper. Make sure to bring enough cash since most of the establishments in the coastal areas do not accept card payments. Some do accept GCash payments today.
Restaurants
- Most of the restaurants are located in town proper. However, some resorts do have their own in-house restaurants.
Cellular Network
- The signal for the majority of network providers is strong in most of the areas and becomes weaker near the beach areas.
