Manila is known for having a preserved walled city called Intramuros that gives us a glimpse of the past from the Spaniard colonial time. But did you know that there's another Spanish-style attraction in Quezon City today?
It was in the 1980s when Jose "Jerry" Acuzar established New San Jose Builders, a real estate firm that soon took on the renovation of the Court of Appeals building and the development of luxury condominiums in Quezon City and Bonifacio Global City.

With the heritage town a tourism success, it was only natural for the Acuzars to want to develop the Las Casas brand by expanding into other cities, starting with Las Casas Quezon City.
Louise Valenzuela shared on her Facebook post about her experience here in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.
Found at the heart of Roosevelt Avenue, Las Casas in Quezon City is an intricately-designed property that boasts a rare experience that is aligned with what Las Casas Heritage Collection has to offer – a unique space, wonderful food, and exceptional service.
As part of the Las Casas Heritage Collection, which will be a series of boutique hotels and events spaces in major and up and coming cities around the Philippines, Las Casas QC is the first venture into this project.
The house and lot owned by the Juico family, was acquired by the NSJBI group in 2016, it was initially offered to be turned into a residential building, until Chairman and Founder, Jerry Acuzar, realized the beauty of the rare art-deco house and its many tree varieties. Thus the idea behind turning this into an extension of Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar came to be.
The original structure of the house was retained along with all its trees. Acuzar, with his appreciation for old structures and nature, could not fathom the idea of tearing down the house, or its several ancient old trees. He then found a way to salvage these by turning this into an events-space and boutique hotel. He felt that this was appropriate as it used to be a venue for many important social gatherings back in the day.
Bringing in his team of artisans, craftsmen and artists, he revamped the interior of the house and gardens, however, kept the dining room, pool and structure of the house in its original design.
The project’s interiors and overall architecture are an eclectic mix of styles, it is not about being defined as one style, rather it is about borrowing from different styles and techniques, be it baroque, art deco, art noveau, etc. Las Casas experiments with different medias and techniques, the interiors are mainly a showcase of the artistry and craftsmanship our craftsmen and workers in Bataan can do.
Soon enough, they'll be opening a seven-storey convention center that will house more event spaces and hotel rooms, its own chapel, and another courtyard behind the main house. "We want this to be an extension of our well-loved resort in Bataan," Jovy shared to Spot.ph
