Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso announced on Saturday (April 4, 2020) that he, the City Vice Mayor, Majority Floor Leader and the City Councilors will give their salary for the month of April to Philippine General Hospital or PGH.

The total amount is estimated of P4.7 million.


Their goal is to help the national-funded hospital in fight to COVID-19 outbreak in the Philippines.

Ang inyo pong elected officials sa Lungsod ng Maynila—ako po, si Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, Majority Floor Leader Joel Chua at lahat ng City Councilor—idodonate po namin ang aming buong sahod para sa buwan ng Abril sa Philippine General Hospital. 
Ang lahat ng ito po ay nagkakahalagang P4.7 million. Sa maliit po naming kaparaanan, sana po ay makatulong ito sa pagpapalakas ng kakayanan ng ating nga frontliner sa healthcare sector para labanan ang outbreak ng COVID-19.

The city currently has 156 confirmed cases of the disease (14 recovered, 25 deceased) and 395 Persons Under Investigantion (PUI).
As of April 5, 2020, there have been 3,246 confirmed cases of the disease in the country. Out of these cases, 152 deaths and 64 recoveries were recorded. Some 16,368 have been tested so far.

The largest single-day increase in the number of confirmed cases was on March 31, when 538 new cases were announced.
