Taguig COVID-19 cases now at 116
Taguig City has 4 new confirmed cases, raising the total to 116.

TAGUIG CITY COVID-19 BULLETIN No. 20

COVID-19 CASE UPDATE

-The Department of Health has confirmed 104 new cases of COVID-19 today.

Total number of cases is now 3,764.

-The total number of recoveries is now 84, with 11 new recoveries today.

-With 14 deaths today, the Philippines now has 177.

ECQ EXTENSION

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases confirmed that the Luzon enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) will be extended until April 30.

DISINFECTION OF ROADS

-The city continues to sanitize roads across the city with the help of Taguig Rescue. They operate day and night to make sure our roads are safe from COVID-19.

-The city thanks the barangays who have taken it upon themselves to sanitize their territories.

LIBRENG SAKAY 

-The city extends help to essential workers in health and emergency by providing free rides to them so they could get to work and home safely.

-The same service is provided to our sickly citizens. Patient transport vehicles will be provided to individuals who have schedules for dialysis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy; seniors, pregnant women and PWDs who will undergo checkups within and outside Taguig; and other individuals who will need medical attention for non-COVID-19 and non-emergency cases. In fact, four patients have already availed of the program for April 8.

TODA, PODA, JODA SUPPORT

-Tomorrow, the city will conclude giving the P4,000 cash assistance to members of TODAs. Up next, Taguig is preparing to release the aid to JODA and PODA members.

-As soon as the city has released the support to the TODA, PODA and JODA members, drivers of UV Express, Taxis and Angkas are next.

-They will all receive another P4,000 next month.

-To avoid the transmission of COVID-19 during distribution events, the activity is done in batches with strict observance of social distancing protocols.

SOCIAL AMELIORATION

-In coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, a social amelioration program (SAP) will benefit 92,000 Taguigeño families. This assistance is one of many under the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act.

-The city will continue to collaborate with the national government so that we are able to assist it in providing help to our citizens. Meanwhile, the city vows to ensure that no Taguigeno goes hungry in these trying times. We have enough funds and supplies to deliver on this promise.

-The enumerators of the Taguig City Integrated Survey System are now deployed to the barangays to talk with the officials there about the specifics of the SAP.

RELIEF DISTRIBUTION

-In stay-at-home packs, the city has already distributed 228,149 as of yesterday.

-We have already distributed 63,537 anti-COVID-19 kits. Some 52,498 unites went to seniors; 11, 039 went to PWDs/Sick and other vulnerable sectors.

ARRESTS MADE

-Upholding the rule of law, the city has continued to monitor and apprehend criminal activity in the city. As of April 6, we now have three arrests related to illegal drugs and one for robbery.

-In accordance with our efforts to make sure everyone abides by the ECQ guidelines, the following violations were documented: 105 on curfew violations by minors, 28 on violations of social distancing protocols, and 307 on unauthorized individuals outside their residences.



TRIBUTE TO FRONTLINERS

-Today, let us pay tribute to all our workers who sacrifice their lives so that we may get through this COVID-19 pandemic and continue to enjoy essential services.

-We have 3,000 health workers who are leading our effort to arrest the spread of the virus, treat those who are sick and continue their mandate to provide care for those who need medical attention.

-These workers include the 350 medical and non-medical staff of Taguig-Pateros District Hospital, as wells as 20 doctors and 30 nurses in the frontlines.
