CASE UPDATES
- With 15 new cases reported to the Department of Health (DOH) at 4:00pm today, the Philippines now has 202 confirmed cases of COVID-19.- The death toll for COVID-19 is now at 17, the DOH said in its advisory.
- There is 1 new case of COVID-19 in Taguig which brings the number of confirmed cases to 5. All these cases are confined in hospitals, and treated in isolated facilities.
-To keep the larger population safe from infection, the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CEDSU) and DOH have persistently done contact tracing on all the confirmed cases in the city. All areas that were visited by the patients have been thoroughly disinfected and secured by our disinfection team.

GUIDELINES FOR TAGUIG LOCKDOWN RELEASED
-Effective at 12 AM today, the City of Taguig went under lockdown to intensify efforts to fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Mayor Lino Cayetano in the afternoon of March 17 released implementing guidelines for the said measure.-Among others, the guidelines set that all public and private offices, business establishments and stores are going to close, except those providing basic necessities, banking services, social services, select food services, public markets, as well as business process outsourcing companies and media outlets that meet the requirements set by government, among others.
-The operation of all modes of mass public transportation is suspended; individuals are required to stay inside their homes, and those found outside their homes except to purchase necessities will be required to return home.

-In a social media posting today, the Mayor told people to stay calm and cooperative as the city has prepared for COVID-19 since the beginning of the year. He further noted that the city has devised short-, medium and long-term plans to help families and communities cushion the impacts of the lockdown. The mayor appealed that residents help neighbors in need whenever they can.
HELP FOR COMMUNITIES
-Taguig City has released thousands of food packs to families in need, including those who’ve lost their livelihood and who live in poverty. The city will continue to distribute goods in the coming days.-The City has distributed over 11,300 anti-COVID kits to various sectors who are at risk such as senior citizens, dialysis patients, and breast cancer patients. Distribution is still ongoing.
-The city also distributed backpack sprayers, disinfectants and monetary assistance to all the barangays so they can further improve their community-based efforts to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

LIBRENG SAKAY FOR HEALTHCARE AND EMERGENCY WORKERS
- The local government will also have free transport service for healthcare and emergency workers. This Libreng Sakay will be a point-to-point service in 16 routes all over Taguig to ferry frontline healthcare workers to and from work. It will operate from 6AM to 9PM daily.- There will also be shuttle services in designated boundaries of the city to transport healthcare and emergency workers traveling from other cities.
