In a Facebook post of Brgy. Tanyag on Wednesday night, they said the payment was not for a gate pass but a clearance for residency for those who are working outside the city. They added that this will serve as proof that they are residents of the barangay, and they are to pay the amount of P50 in accordance with the local ordinance.

They said that because of the lockdown, residents are not allowed to leave the city and that the barangay does not issue a gate pass or clearance for them to buy groceries from a shopping mart in Parañaque City.

Due to this, the local government said it will now take over the enhanced community quarantine operations in the barangay until necessary.

In a statement given to reporters on Thursday, Mayor Lino Cayetano said that in relation to the incident in Brgy. Tanyag, he immediately reprimanded the barangay captain.
