We can now see a clear view of Sierra Madre from the metro.

While Metro Manila is at a standstill because of the 30-day community quarantine, nature seems to be healing itself from air pollution.


Prior to the implementation of lockdown, it was impossible to see through the heavy smog that enveloped the valley in the afternoon.

In this photo taken by Johair Siscar Addang, we are treated to a rare sight: a smog-free horizon featuring Metro Manila’s skyline with the Sierra Madre Mountain Range in the background.

According to Addang, he took the photos from the roof deck of a condo in Pasig at 5:19 p.m. on March 23 just before sunset.

As seen in the photos, the atmosphere has cleared itself of smog, just a week after the implementation of community quarantine in Metro Manila.Seen in the photos are parts of Taytay, Antipolo, and Cainta, which share borders with Pasig.

The clear air allowed the photographer to get a shot of the mountain range, which is situated miles away from his vantage point.

Despite the pandemic crisis that will definitely make our economy slow, we have some small good news!
