THE BIGGEST ECO-FRIENDLY HOTEL CHAIN IN THE PHILIPPINES

 You will appreciate mother earth once more when you experience a stay with Eco Hotel. From furniture, building materials, artwork, and interiors, they used mostly recycled materials.

They also use the natural light and LED powered lights to reduce electricity consumption. They even avoid to cut trees and adapted to the nature in creating beautiful structures.

Last May, Eco Hotel Philippines hosted a Bloggers Day event on which I was invited to come and join them. :) During our day tour we visited 3 of their top eco hotels - Villas by Eco Hotel come in Batangas, Cabins by Eco Hotel and Containers by Eco Hotel in Tagaytay City.

Eco Hotel was founded by Alessandra AB, considering herself as an outlier, conceptualizing a retirement project, utilizing all the years of experience she has had in real estate development, leasing, finance, and hotel operations of 30 years.

Opened 2015

The first Eco Hotel branch came about as a small socio-civic project.  She wanted to share what she has learned over her lifetime, her creative talents, of being resourceful, of being environmentally conscious and responsible, love and appreciation for nature and its preservation, and to do her role to share and give back to the community. 

April 2015 was the opening of the first Eco Hotel, branded as “Cabins by Eco Hotel”.  On a 560sqm lot  by the ridge in Aguinaldo Highway, overlooking Taal Volcano, across Ayala Serin Mall, with a height restriction only equivalent to 2 floors, she built a 2-storey structure with room sizes  and spaces just enough  for sleeping.

She wanted to provide a compact sleeping space- resembling that of a ship’s cabin, comfortable, relaxing all the 5 senses, allowing pets by the guests’ side, and respecting them as one’s source of energy and rejuvenation, the smell of pine and lemongrass, the sense of security and comfort of sleeping in a box, with a huge window where one can opt to see the garden or the lake so one does not feel claustrophobic.

 They source environmentally friendly supplies for our hotel in Tagaytay. You will be provided everything you need for maximum comfort and convenience, but this doesn’t come at the expense of the environment.

Their faćade and interiors showcase upcycled materials and repurposed furniture that otherwise ends up as rubbish.

All rooms are eco-chic in design with beds covered in clean, high thread count sheets and enclosed in walls of pine that give out that true pine scent.

 Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the roof deck giving a picturesque view of Taal Lake. The meal selections at their green hotel in Tagaytay come accompanied with our signature, locally sourced coffee (projectlocoph.com). Guests are also invited to join their daily happy hour at the lobby from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. A complimentary glass of wine awaits all takers.

They are a pet-friendly hotel and welcome furry pets up to 25 pounds, subject to a pet fee of P500 per pet per night.

 Front office hours are from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. A night duty guard ushers guests in while CCTV cameras are installed in vantage points for added security.
