Before this piece of land became commercially established, this part of Pasig has been a part of Province of Rizal. Pasig served as its capital until 2008, even it became a part of the newly created National Capital Region since November 7, 1975. A provincial capitol has been in Antipolo since 2009, making it the administrative center.
On June 19, 2020, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act No. 11475, which designated Antipolo as the capital of Rizal. The change took place on July 7, 2020.

About Capitol Commons
Capitol Commons is a mixed-use development under construction in Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines. The area is a 10-hectare mixed-use development located along Meralco Ave. corner Shaw Blvd. Ortigas Center, Pasig City (Former Rizal Provincial Capitol) that features modern living spaces, office facilities, and commercial areas that showcase premium retail and entertainment selections.

Estancia, Capitol Commons' top-notch retail facility houses a collection of fine international fashion brands and destination retailers. Capitol Commons will also be the home of the second Unimart branch for quality grocery shopping.

A high-end mall which houses a premiere collection of fine international fashion brands and destination retailers, complemented by a delectable array of dining choices.
Estancia is the upscale retail anchor for the Capitol Commons development. It has 30,000 square meters (320,000 sq ft) of leasable space in three levels and is anchored by international furniture retailers West Elm and Pottery Barn. The lifestyle center also carries other international brands such as Aéropostale, Old Navy, Cortefiel, Debenhams, Kurt Geiger, Diesel and Isaac Mizrahi.
It is also home to several restaurant chains such as Coco Ichiban and TWG Tea. A major component of the Estancia mixed-use complex is the North and South Wings which house 19,461 square meters (209,480 sq ft) of business process outsourcing (BPO) office space accredited by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). The mall was completed in 2014.

Capitol Commons is situated in the southern portion of the barangay of Oranbo in the western part of Pasig just north of the village of Kapitolyo (named after the former provincial capitol). It is an eastern extension of Ortigas Center bounded by Meralco Avenue on the west, Shaw Boulevard on the south, Camino Verde Road to the east, and Capt. Henry Javier Street to the north.
It is located close to major Pasig landmarks such as the PhilSports Complex, the Department of Education main offices, Valle Verde Country Club, and the University of Asia and the Pacific. The development is served by Shaw Boulevard MRT Station which lies approximately 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) to the west.

GETTING TO CAPITOL COMMONS
Via Public Commuting
- From EDSA, you can either ride the MRT or BUS ride which stops and/or passes Shaw Boulevard/Crossing Ibabaw.
- If your riding the MRT, go down at Shaw Boulevard Station.
- Ride a Jeep with a signage “Pasig Palengke” or “San Joaquin” at the terminal located at the side of WCC infront of Starmall EDSA, Shaw Boulevard.
- Go down at “Kapitolyo Circle”, Capitol Commons is located at the left side, a few walks you’ll reach Estancia Mall.

CAPITOL COMMONS PARKING
Estancia’s parking has lots of wide lanes to maneuver through, with large and legible arrows indicating the correct flow of traffic. Even the one-way lanes are quite wide. You won’t find yourself having to squeeze through a tight lane if another car is coming through. Also, more parking slots have been added under the newly opened Unimart, though that one has a separate entrance.

Entrances to the parking lot are clearly marked, as are the exits. The mall entrances are also well-lit and easy to spot from inside your car. PWDs get a number of exclusive parking slots near the entrances and elevators.
There are numerous guards spread out throughout each level. After a certain hour, some exits and levels are blocked, but the personnel are happy to help you find your way out. The parking is also easily accessible even after the mall closes.
Capitol Commons Parking Rates
As of writing, the rate for cars is P50 for the first four hours, and P20 for every succeeding hour. For motorcycles, it's a flat fee of P50.
