Eat your comfort food while enjoying the good weather in Tagaytay.

 Simply Epic Cafe is an industrial themed café that serves comfort food and various refreshments. As per Joyce, one of the owners, the meaning of the cafe's name came from the words "simple" because of their minimalist design and "epic" because of their food and drinks.

 The café is next to a chapel and a garden they both owned, too. Joyce and her partner decided to put it up as an output of their creative side and love in cooking and making their own specialty drinks. Both of them have current jobs in Metro Manila and they only open the café on Saturdays and Sundays.
YES, this cafe is only operating during weekends!



THE FOOD

They serve affordable dishes such us grilled chicken and pork chops, signature pasta, sweet desserts, house blended drinks, brewed coffee and sweet drinks.

WHAT TO TRY
Here are the food and drinks you must try at Simply Epic Cafe:

OUR VERDICT
For starters, the nachos were colorful and tasty. Good thing we had two (2) plates of it. One was not enough.

Their rice meals were mostly grilled dishes partnered with mashed potato.

 I also love their house blend tea (AllMyTea). You can really taste the tea without being compromised by the lemonade.


We also tried their Aligue Pasta. Yes, you got it right! It has aligue from crabs. Don't worry, you can still finish this without having hypertension unless you have it. Eat moderately. :D

 For desserts, they served us their own version of cinnamon roll. It's like a stick-size roll of bread topped with cream and cinnamon. I love it since it's not too sweet. Three sticks may not be enough for a group.


We were also surprised that they make "ice scramble" - a comfort food in our childhood in 90's. It brings back all my kiddo memories. And yes, it tastes like the one we were used to buy way back in time.

All in all, we liked all of the food we tried. I would love to go back here for their food!

THE AMBIANCE

One thing I love with this place is the colors of their establishments. It is somewhat woody and green everywhere. Besides the chapel and the cafe, the whole place is like a mini garden. You can also dine outside. It's just soothing to breathe fresh air while dining here.

Inside the cafe you will notice the industrial interior. They use tubes and bulbs for their lighting and paint their walls to compliment with the whole design.


We also found out that they have this turntable that actually works. They even have a vinyl record copy of The Beatles. We were also surprised that the same device can also play record tapes, FM and AM radio and can read USB and memory cards. Cool isn't it? 

You can also play games like chess and snake and ladders. It was fun having a meal and play games with friends at this humble café.


THE CHAPEL

Epic Simply Cafe is just next to a chapel that they also owned. The owner shared to us that most of the people are coming for the chapel for a visit or to pray inside. The chapel itself is enclosed and has images of Mary and Jesus. There are plenty of seats for visitors.

They also shared that they do a mass one Sunday in a month.

HOW TO GET TO SIMPLY EPIC CAFE

This cafe might be hidden but since many are going to Puzzle Mansion, getting there is easy peasy!

Via Private Vehicle: Please FOLLOW the directions to The Puzzle Mansion. It is just a few meters away from the attraction. Or search "Simply Epic Cafe" on Waze or Google Maps.

 Via Public Vehicle: Catch a jeepney/bus trip en route to Nasugbu from Olivares (30-45 minutes depending on the traffic). Fare is P12. Drop off "Radar" and look for a tricycle that will bring you straight there. Travel time is about 10-15 minutes and the fare is P10 each for 5pax.
