Taguig is one of the fastest growing cities in the Philippines today. With its skyscrapers and tourist spots, Taguig is becoming a world class city in the country!
Taguieno, an online community Facebook page shared us a list of places in Taguig that showcase some counties around the world. Let us know if you agree with it:
NEW YORK CITY
Nope. It's BGC!
Bonifacio Global City or just BGC is still baby compare to other business districts in Metro Manila, yet it attracts businesses and tourists because of its beauty and futuristic look. It offers a nice skyline that looks like the New York City and its Central Park.
BGC is home to the biggest outdoor malls in the Philippines such as Bonifacio High Street, Forbes Town and Uptown BGC.
VENICE
Nope. It's McKinley Hill!
McKinley Hill is one of the fast-developing leisure sites in Taguig City in Bonifacio Global City. Developed by Megaworld, its Venetian gothic architecture makes it stand out among other leisure spots in the Metro. It is a mediterranean-inspired venue for families, friends and colleagues.
McKinley Hill is home to the famous Venice Grand Canal Mall where visitors come in to have an experience of a piece of Venice in Italy.
THAILAND
Nope. It's Laguna Lake!
Taguig is one of the cities and municipalities in the Eastern area of Metro Manila and CALABARZON that has access to Laguna Lake, the biggest lake in the Philippines.
Taguigenos and the locals nearby the lake still use boats just like the other Southeast Asian countries like Thailand. This will give you a vibe of the famous floating markets in Thailand.
BEIJING
Nope. It's BGC!
BGC has gained its popularity into business world. Today, at least 2,000 companies in the Philippines are operating into this business district in Taguig. Just like Beijing in China, it became the home to top companies locally and internationally.
Big businesses and companies such as Globe Telecom, NutriAsia, Isuzu Philippines, Maybank and Unilever Philippines based in BGC. Even the Philippine Stock Exchange is operating here.
SPAIN
Nope. It's St. Anne Church!
Being colonized by the Spaniards for centuries, there's no doubt that our culture will be largely influenced by theirs. Not only in Taguig you will see a church, a building or any structures that has a touch of Spanish colonial style of architecture.
The Saint Anne Parish Church, also known as Santa Ana Church is just one proof of Spain's influence in the country. The church is founded in 1587 by Fr. Diego Alvarez, one of the Augustinian priests from Spain who were assigned to begin religious activities in Taguig.
MALDIVES
Nope. It's Mercado Del Lago.
Last but not least, Mercado del Lago opened recently in Taguig as the city's first floating restaurant. The attraction located by the lake, attracting people with its unusual view if you live in the inner areas of Metro Manila.
Mercado del Lago's floating huts remind us of the floating cottages that are usually seen in Maldives. However, while you can enjoy water activities in the Maldives, this place in Taguig has an unpleasant waters you can't even swim in it.
