SIARGAO is indeed a top destination in the Philippines. But how is it feel to be here and why is this tropical island a must-visit? See what Richmond Saguiafin has for us!
Siargao is a tear-drop shaped island in the Philippine Sea situated 800 kilometers southeast of Manila in the province of Surigao del Norte. It has a land area of approximately 437 square kilometres.
In guide, you will learn about Siargao, how to get there, where to stay, things to do and sample budget. Here's what Richmond experienced in visiting Siargao:
FLYING TO SIARGAO FROM MANILA
Arrived at Siargao Domestic Airport from a 1 hour and 20 minutes journey (Manila to Siargao) Mainit dito. So ipaligo nyo na ang sunblock sa Manila airport palang or lunukin nyo ang sun block much better.Siargao is located in Surigao so its one of Surigao Del Norte's islands. Wag din parang below sea level ang i.q. ha. Wag puros gym at pagmamake up ang alam.
Skyjet can only fit 70 people on board and only fly to Batanes, Caticlan, Busuanga and Siargao. It was a rough landing earlier and it was scary as hell as the plane just bounced during landing (videos later) Akala ko hindi ko na masisilayan ang Siargao at na sight ko na si San Pedro ng bery bery light. Maiksi lang ang runway mga tipong from sala nyo to banyo nyo sa bahay. No joke!
Airfare to Siargao
The fare is at 12k for round trip, pricey isnt it? (220 USD) Dinaig pa Hongkong, Cambodia at Vietnam teh. Hindi ko alam kung may mga diamonds ba sa lugar na to or minahan ng mga brilyante for a fare price like that. But I guess this is way cheaper compare sa ibang airline na masyadong gahaman. So alam na, iwasan ang spot na to paglapag ng eroplano kung gusto nyong manatili ang karangalan nyo bilang tao.

Ate Irene is one the nicest person I know. She is very accommodating and deserve to be promoted as hotel supervisor. All of the staffs in this resort are extremely nice.
We are staying at Romantic Villas Resort (google it) Ate Irene always gives me extended food (im talking about breakfast because its free) Kapag ubos ko na ang food ko she will automatically gives me another set of meal, for free to mga beshiess waley bayad, libre, limos, give away!
Our room at Romantic Villas Resort |
Our bed for 4 days. Lakas maka mag syota ng kamang to. I asked my friend to sleep sa lapag kasi malakas ako humilik which she agreed. Mahirap ng mahipuan ng hindi mo type. #balakadyan
This villa is ideal for barkada getaway. The price is at 6-8k per night and still depends on the season, aircon dito at may pa dalawang electric fan din sila mem! choosy pa? Majority are foreigners staying here. Afam goals dito mga teh, puros afam! so alam nyo na ha? Itodo nyo na ang pag awra.
Kung gusto nyo makatipid may mga hostel naman sa area, ayun lang banig level at winnie the pooh bed sheet ang hihigaan nyo so gow na kung nagtitipid.
Pool area at Romantic Villas Resort |
A view of our hotel resort from reception area. The sea may look closer on this shot but because it is low tide it is really far from the shore. Mga benteng tumbling pa at walong limbo rack to reach the sea part mga mem!
The resort has a bar so kahit dito na kayo gumimik during night time.

- Bravo Beach Resort - Bravo, as it’s more popularly known, is situated in the lively General Luna area.

My friend asked me to do this pose which I did and it scares the hell out of me. Mukang shokoy at its finest. Minsan talaga may sapi ako when travelling.
This is what satisfaction looks like after we pee'd on the pool 😂 Ang layo ng villa namin sa pool area para magpabalik balik no.
Ngiting patay gutom it is!
Parang may kulam mamsh.
Lakas lang din maka balakang ng mga serving nila- yung good for sharing nila good for isang buong barkada.
WHERE TO GO IN SIARGAO
You can also go to Bravo and Kermit kung gusto nyo makipag sosyalan pa at kumerengkeng. 5minute walk lang from our hotel resort. The good thing about Siargao island is you can rent a motorcycle for 500 pesos the entire day. Its all yours, kahit paliparin mo ang motor without a helmet keri! the only disadvantage is waley signal sa ibang part at talaga namang ligaw ang aabutin mo dahil hndi ma access si pareng waze at mareng google maps. So mag isip isip ka muna bago mag rent ng motorcycle ha?
Kung gusto mo namang lumandi i download ang tinder mga paps and mamshies at sandamukal ang foreigners dito at hindi kayo mazezero. Gow!

ISLAND HOPPING IN SIARGAO
Our first selfie at Siargao. Ive waited for my friend for an hour para lang sa make up nya. Sasali ata sa Bb. Pilipinas. This is our first island hopping going to Daku Island. There are packages in the hotel if you want to avail. Nontheless, we chose to have it DIY-ed (or do-it-yourself) that costs us roughly around 2k the whole day for the boat alone.
Daku Island
At Daku Island |
At Daku Island (daku means malaki in bisaya, daks sa mga libogerot libogera)
I guess there are hundreds of coconut trees in this island. So why not make the most of taking a picture while Im here daba? Be careful of taking a pictures here as some coconut will just suddenly fall without you knowing.
Ive heard a woman was declared dead on arrival in a hospital because there were 3 coconuts that fell on her head while doing her selfie. Too bad. RIP. My deep condolences. Heart breaking!
Guyam Island
This is at Guyam Island. Pang 5 years profile pic or cover photo ang shot dito mga mem!
So sana umayos tayo.
If youre travelling alone naku besh mahihirapan ka dahil 1600 ang boat rent going here from port area. Ang nangyari pa samen since we were just two, hindi pwedeng makisabay sa mga hindi mo kilala. No choice kami paps and mamsh dahil yung 1600 rent pinaghatian na lang naming dalawa. Gusto kong magwala during this time lol.
Dalee!
Sugba Lagoon
Paddling at Sugba Lagoon |
There are people waiting for me as I striked this pose. Nakaka galet!
This is a 25 feet dive so alam na? wag shunga sa pagtalon ha? unahin ang paa at wag leg landing para iwas pasa. Good luck mga beshies! Laban lang!!
Magpupungko Rock
Mapungpuco Rocks |
Overall, Siargao island is a must visit!
