The food, locals, laid back environment and everything about it. It’s actually my first time to visit and my last trip of the year 2015.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CORON
A part of the Calamian Islands, or Calamianes Archipelago, Coron is in the Palawan Provence in the far west of the Philippines.
What most travelers call Coron is the Municipality of Coron which is located on the largest island in the archipelago, Busuanga Island. What can be confusing is there is also a Coron Island, which is a stunning undeveloped island which most Coron day trips visit.
Coron Island is located a 30-minute boat ride from the town on Busuanga Island and is home to many of the top sights in Coron. Here you can find Twin Lagoons, Kayangan Lake, Barracuda Lake, and many stunning beaches and smaller lagoons.
Coron Town is a fishing village with a population is just over 40,000 but it is becoming more and more popular tourist every year. Coron is often listed as one of the top tourist places in the Philippines. The Palawan was recently named the most beautiful island in the world and we’d have to agree.
Before traveling, you might want to check the live weather forecast and updates to make your trip even easier and safer for you. You can also get the latest report for land traffic in Metro Manila and major parts of the Philippines.
THE EXPERIENCE
We arrived in Busuanga airport around eight in the morning via Skyjet. We booked our ticket last week of October and we got it for P3,300 round trip already. It was just a 35-minutes flight from Manila. You can also check flights from Cebu Pacific Air and PAL.I know flights to Coron are a bit expensive but I tell you it’s worth it. Better if you avail seat sale or Piso sale.
After getting our backpacks, we took van going to Coron town, fare is P150 one way. We have reservation in one of the best hotel but we look for hostel or cheaper room and we found Kimberly’s. The manager permitted us do check in early since the room is already vacant.

Our room is good for 4 persons for only P1,500 per night with aircon, TV, hot & cold shower. After that we had our lunch and went back and prep for the next activity.
